1. Adjustments in Active Directory

1. Launch RSAT.
2. Sign in with network credentials.
3. In RSAT, navigate:
4. Console Root > Active Directory Users and Computers → DC.rtech.org → rtech.org → RTECH → Computers.
5. Find the target computer, double‑click to open Properties.
6. Make the following changes in Properties:
7. General Tab – set Description to laptop model – service tag.

   1. Service tag can be read from the machine or retrieved with:

      • Open Command Prompt and run wmic bios get serialnumber.
        

      2. Member of Tab – add the computer to the Laptops group (provides wireless access).
      1. Click Add → type Laptops → OK.
      6. Click Apply and then OK.
      7. Move the computer to the appropriate Organizational Unit:
      1. Desktops for desktop PCs.
      2. Laptops for laptops.
      8. In the “Move: Active Directory Domain Services” dialog that appears, click Yes to complete the move.
