Diskpart¶
These steps show how to use diskpart to fully wipe a drive even if it does not show when plugged in
- Run CMD as administrator.
- Start diskpart:
- List all plugged-in drives:
- Choose the drive to wipe (replace
1with the correct disk number): - Wipe the drive:
- You can use
cleaninstead ofclean allto only remove partitions. - If you get an error, wait a moment and try again a few times.
- You can use
- Wait for the process to finish.
- This may take several minutes and there are no visual progress indicators.
Note:
Be very careful to select the correct disk, as this process will erase all data on the selected drive.
